YOUTH MINISTER
Graham Vickers is the Youth Minister for Ulverston Parish Church, as well as The Youth Minister for the Furness Deanery. Along with his wife Michelle they are responsible for seeing the youth of the area grow into mighty young men and women of God!
Graham and Michelle come to us with years of experience. With God's help they founded and ran the AWOL project, a church based youth organisation based in the run down mining areas of Yorkshire. From its small beginnings, the project went from strength to strength, incorporating a drop in centre, big youth services, and links throughout the country, but more importantly, seeing young people turn to Christ!!
Graham grew up in the inner cities and didn’t get saved until 9 years ago. He relates to the young people in a way which they understand, simple, direct and with no frills added! Michelle’s experience as a young single mum and the pressures it brings prove invaluable to relating to the teenage girls and the pressures that they are under as they take the first steps into adulthood.
Together they make quite a formidable team, but with God in the equation too, formidable becomes unstoppable!

BASE
BASE is the youth department of Ulverston Parish Church, and the umbrella department for the church youth organisations of the Furness Deanery.
BASE stands for Believing, Anointing, Supporting, and Equipping, all things that we are going to be doing with our young people in their walk with God. From helping and advising our younger teens, right through to mentoring and training our older teens who feel they have a call of leadership on their lives, The BASE team will be there right through our youths' teenage years and prayerfully, beyond.
Age ranges for the youth are 11-18. On Sunday mornings the 11 to 14 year old go to their own teaching group called Y4. Sunday evenings after Café Church, all of the young people go down to the Basement, a place where they can chill out, discuss the topics of the evening, and eat cake! (as well as playing table tennis and pool)
