Coffee, cakes and a good cause!

St Mary's Hospice has recently opened an attractive coffee shop, The Orangery, which is open daily from 10.30 - 3.30.   St Mary's hopes that the café will become a daily necessity for visitors, patients and local café addicts - a comfortable place to meet friends, to read a book, or for a bite to eat when out walking in the Hoad area.  The home-made cakes are delicious!

The Orangery, which has wonderful views of St Mary's gardens, provides the perfect setting for people to get together and enjoy some light refreshments.   The hospice hopes that the cafe will raise valuable funds, and also raise awareness of its role within the community

"Raise the Roof" logoRaise The Roof! - For centuries here, congregations have raised the roof and rattled the rafters.  For us to continue to raise the roof we first need to “raise a roof”.  It has been suggested that members of the congregation may like to ‘sponsor’ a roof slate.  At only £5.00 a slate it will be an opportunity to contribute to this vital project.
Watch out for a display which will appear at the back of church which will enable you to participate and to follow progress.

900th Birthday Celebrations - Next year it will be 900 years since the foundation of St Mary's Ulverston, and we plan to celebrate in style. If you have any ideas or would like to join an enthusiastic planning group, please speak to Keith Howson or Sue Harries.
